Home meaning California. I miss everything about it. I've been in Canada for the past two years and I still haven't learned to like it. It's been over a year since I've gone back to Cali and now this place is just unbearable! Mom had come to visit in July, but was only able to stay for two weeks and even her visit feels like it never happened. I miss her so much....
Everyone says that my new home is in Canada with my husband, but I really feel like running away from here. I love my husband with all of my heart but I need my family too. And no that doesn't mean my husband's parents. They will never be my family, no matter how much they claim to be. In the end, they only care for their own son and that's where there love ends. Well, actually, it skips over me and then continues onto their son's kids....isn't life just wonderful!
I'm still not pregnant. I was trying to do it scientifically meaning counting my cycle and determining my ovulation days, etc., but obviously it hasn't worked yet. I took an at home prego test, and it was negative. I'm really disappointed.

Just Another Thursday...
It was a pretty easy day at work today, fortunately. Thursdays are meeting days so I like them more than any other day. Maybe not more than a Friday though, but Thursdays aren't too bad. The meeting gives us an extra break and lately not a lot is going on at work in regards to changes, so we usually just spend the hour chatting. However, today we not only chatted, but ate too.
One of the girls brought some Olympias for snacking. What is an Olympia, you ask? I had no idea till today either. They are a Filipino food and look like small egg rolls pork or beef filling. They were fabulous and would have been even better if I had some sambal oelek to dip them into. Yum! I just had one since I had just eaten my lunch a few moments earlier. However, I can't say that about the other people in my team. They were attacking the food like they hadn't eaten in days. It was so embarrassing!
It always seems to amaze me to see how greedy people get when they see free food. And there's always one or two people who seem to be more excited than the others. Makes me wonder how they can throw their manners out the door so quickly. Like today, I mean the foods on the table and you know it's brought for everyone on the team, so why can't you just wait while the speaker is done and then grab a plate? This one lady got so excited that she grabbed a plate while the manager was speaking, and just dunked her whole hand in to the container. I was mortified! Who knows where those hands have been? Or haven't been, for that matter!
After seeing what I did today, I've totally lost respect for not only that lady, but a few of my other coworkers. They're really nice people, but this act has totally changed my opinion on there characters. :(

Time for a BABY! :)
My husband and I have decided that we are ready to begin trying for a baby! I'm so glad that we are finally ready! Ok so I'm not sure if we're 100% ready, but then who is? All I know is that I can't wait to be a mother and have a little one around. :)

No Magnets for Stainless Steel??
I chose to have stainless steel appliances in my kitchen, unaware of the fact that I couldn't use magnets to hang my precious pictures and calendar on the refrigerator. Only if someone, like the salesman at Sears had mentioned it to me, I would have just gone with a basic black fridge! I'm so aggravated!
I had a few pics that I wanted to hang on the fridge today, but as soon as I tried, I learned it wasn't possible. The magnet fell to the floor, as soon as I let go. It just refuses to stick the surface! UGH! So I searched the Internet, thinking there must be a solution out there because there almost always is. However, with my darned luck, there isn't one!
There were suggestions of using the side of the refrigerator which isn't accessible in my situation. Or I can just hang a piece of metal somewhere on a wall and use that for hanging my stuff. I'm not too keen on the idea but I guess I'll have to be a lil creative and make it work......
If anyone else has ideas, please enlighten me...I'd really appreciate it! :)

Happy Labor Day!
Happy Labor Day Everyone!
Boy has it been a wet holiday. It's been raining here since last night. It's really ugly here and makes me miss home even more. When I was in Cali, Labor day represented a HOT day and barbecues with family in the park. Boy do I miss those days. Ever since I've moved to Winnipeg, my lifestyle has totally done a 180! It rains on Labor Day, it snows on Halloween, and my beautiful March birthday has turned into an ugly dirty snow birthday! UGH! The only plus I saw in the beginning was that we get to have a real white Christmas like it is in the movies, but even that isn't as desirable anymore. Gosh I would do anything to go back home to Cali!! Someday soon............
Today has been a pretty slow day. My SIL came over to spend the night over at our place last night because she really wanted to watch SAW IV. My DH had picked up that one and Halloween from a friends place a few days before. I'm not very intrigued with bloody gore movies so we didn't watch it till now. However, 10 minutes in to it, I was disgusted and went upstairs to read a book. I know it's a bit rude considering we had a guest over, but seriously those movies are really sickening. The torture and blood make me want to throw up. Turns out DH and SIL didn't enjoy it much either, so they turned it off 30mins after....I was very thankful! :) We all just sat and watched a couple of reruns of Two and A Half Men and then went to bed.
In the morning, I made pancakes and eggs with coffee, my signature. Everyone really enjoyed it. DH has been really excited since morning because today is his Fantasy Football draft. He has a friend over who brought his own laptop along so that they can both do their drafts together. It's quite funny. They act like little boys in a candy store. The little giggles and so much excitement..haha.
I've just been keeping myself busy surfing the net. Basically wasting my day off...but what else is there to do? It's raining outside!!
Oh I did make some Malaysian Noodles for lunch. I've been meaning to make them for so many days, but never had all the ingredients. So yesterday, we stopped at the Chinese store and picked up everything. I had visited Malaysia with my mom years ago for a cousin's wedding and fell in love with the food. It's a combo of Chinese, Malay, and Indian...and spicy! How could I not like it? :) I found a blog on the net with pictures of this yummy food, so I picked up a recipe from there. The noodles didn't turn out as great as I remember them, but not too bad.

Happy Monday!
Monday was what it always is, hectic! I'm so glad that it is over!
Work was busy as ever. The chick that sits next to me was in one of her moods so she didn't speak to me much, which was totally appreciated. She's a bit annoying and I have nothing in common with her. When the other people at work told me about her, I thought they were just being unfair and mean. I decided that I'd give her a chance no matter what. I mean everyone is different and we all need to respect that. Plus, the more different personalities I get to know, the more knowledge I will gain. Unfortunately, in this case, I was wrong! She is as annoying and rude as everyone else claimed. So now I just mind my own business.
My MIL and SIL just got back from a two month vacation this afternoon, so after work I went over to go visit them. I don't know why my MIL and I just aren't able to click either. It was so awkward hugging her and telling her how glad I was to have her back. I heard the words coming out of my mouth but as I spoke I could sense tension from her face and body. It felt as if I would choke on my words. Makes me wonder if a relationship between a MIL and DIL is suppose to be as strained as ours is...God knows I've really tried to make it work!
So much for getting along with different personalities to gain knowledge...haha. In the MIL situation, it's a little different though. Our relationship is strained because I didn't turn out to be the DIL that she hadn't dreamed of and vice versa. So obviously there is some bitterness on both fronts.
